So it's been a while, but I've touched on two of the three pillars of Pen and Paper roles in a game. We've forgotten everyone's favorite role to have in a party, but almost nobody's favorite role to play... SUPPORT!
Support is a very vague term however, especially in DDA where there are simply tons of options to utilize. The most basic version is the Healer, a role that keeps someone alive and well by making sure their Wound Boxes simply never deplete. The next is the type who focuses on bolstering their allies, through Strengthen, or weakening enemies through Weaken, or peppering the enemy with various ill Effects to make everyone's job easier, all while dealing little if any direct damage.
In order, your Stats should be about as follows
1) Accuracy. You need to be able to pour as much as you can into Accuracy so you can reliably aid your allies or hit your enemies, plain and simple. Adding to your Brains doesn't hurt either if you intend to go for AoE Healing.
2) Dodge. You do not want to be hit if you can help it, a Tank can only do so much. This will also allow you to go first as often as you can.
3) Armor. If you DO get hit, take as little as you can.
4) Health. Again, same as Armor, but it's give or take less important than Armor in certain cases.
5) Damage. For the most part, this can be entirely ignored outright unless you intend to make a dual-role. You're not here to deal actual damage.
For every 10 points of DP you spend on stats, an approximate spread for a dedicated Support Digimon should probably be either Accuracy: 4, Dodge: 2, Armor: 2, Health 2, Damage: 0 (at Creation Damage has to be 1 obviously), or for a more balanced setup, perhaps 3/2/2/2/1 in the same order.
Qualities to consider.
Obviously Attack Effects of most types. Healing, Poison, Strengthen, and Weaken all stand out as good ones to think on for this role.
Speedy: Movement is your friend when you're not meant to be in the front lines.
Area Attack: you want to hit as much as you can with your Effects.
Alternate Movement: same logic as Speedy really
Agility: You do NOT want to be hit
Huge Power: As Huge Power is Accuracy Based, it's a good idea to take it in case you whiff hard on a much-needed Effect.
Selective Targeting: This role was made for this Quality, plain and simple. If you're going for an Area Support, you don't want enemies or allies to benefit or be harmed by what you toss out.
Essentially any Quality that actively benefits your Allies as well are good to consider.
