Is there a concept that canon Digimon just can't nail down for you? Got a cool variant of a species that fits a character better? Post it here and open it up to feedback.
As usual, be thoughtful and polite with criticism.

The following is part 1 of my two lines for 'the Eight' in my own setting posted on this forum. I didn't want to make the post too unwieldy or flood things, so I figured I would post two parts with four basic lines each. Questions, comments, criticism or any other input is very welcomed.
Sprigmon line:
(Fresh):
(In Training):
Sprigmon (Rookie):
Vacceen Virus Buster Size: Small
A small fairy-ish looking digimon with underdeveloped wings and a longsword carved from a branch. He sports a sandy blonde paige cut and simple armor made of bark and hemp rope. Sprigmon generally has a carefree and self confident attitude, loving to make new friends and hone its skills. Often he will work hard to accomplish simple tasks in return for small rewards or for the sake of making new friends.
Accuracy: 6 Damage: 6 Dodge: 5 Armor: 3 Health: 3
Charge attack: 1 DP Attack Effect (Taunt): 1 DP
Attacks:
Berry ball (Ranged, taunt) Stick Blade (Melee, Charge attack, Sword)
Gentrymon (Champion):
Vacceen Virus Buster Size: Medium
A striking digimon with handsome features and a slight, slender build. Gentrymon is noble and proud, if a bit full of himself. He wears a simple white tunic with an engraved sword belt and shimmering fairy wings. Gentrymon is noble, but capricious and refuses to suffer those with poor manners for any reason. He is an expert swordsman with the thin, ornate epee on his belt. A fact few Gentrymon would mind demonstrating on an unworthy foe.
Accuracy: 7 Damage: 7 Dodge: 7 Armor: 5 Health: 5
Flight: 2 DP Area Attack (Cone): 2 DP Attack Effect (confuse): 2 DP Attack Effect (Weaken): 3 DP
Attacks:
Perforating Strike: (melee, Cone, weaken) Dazzle Spark: (Effect, Confuse) Blade Spark: (Ranged)
Puckmon (Ultimate):
Clad in a shimmering mithril coat, with feathery flowing hair and features that literally radiate light. Puckmon is an exemplar of a fairy in every sense of the word. He carried the blade Databolg on his hip and floats through the air with little help from his shimmering gossamer wings. Though his robes look much like those of Gentrymon they are in fact made of fine Mithral fibers, granting him a bit more protection for their lightness, though in truth it is more for looks than function.
Puckmon is noble, yet devastating if crossed. His skills with a blade are remarkable and he can leave even the hardiest foes weak and bleeding before him. His biggest weakness is perhaps his arrogance and a failure to recognize how vulnerable he can really be when not on guard.
Vaccine Virus Buster Size: Large
Accuracy: 12 Damage: 7 Dodge: 12 Armor: 5 Health: 7
Fly: 2 DP Chrome Digizoid weapon: 1 DP Attack Effect (Weaken): 3 DP Attack Effect (Poison): 2 DP Charge Attack: 1 DP Attack Area (Pass): 2 DP Attack Area (line): 2 DP Holy Ring: 1 DP
Attacks:
Crippling Gash: (Effect, weaken, Line) Mass Infection Strike: (Melee, Charge Attack, Pass, Effect, Poison) Brilliant Blade: (melee) Prank slash: (Ranged)
Knight Sprigmon (Mega):
Oddly enough Knight Sprigmon looks and acts almost identical to his rookie counterpart, save for the shimmering woad-blue armor and the now far larger and more ornate shape of his sword, Databulg: Glisten. This by itself is enough to confuse many foes, but the fact that Kngiht Sprigmon is in fact smaller still than even it’s rookie counterpart often causes others to underestimate him.
This is a serious mistake.
While still eager and even childlike at times Knight Sprigmon is a master combatant and expert swordsman. His seemingly nonfunctional wings are not needed to fly even with the added weight of his Blue Digizoid armor. In truth he is quite maneuverable and able to move though foes quickly and efficiently, avoiding most attacks with ease and using the powerful sword of light technique to heal when he does get hurt. The only drawback is that Knight Sprigmon is actually rather fragile, all things considered. Landing a decent blow may be all that is needed to take him out of the fight, even for weaker digimon.
Vacceen Virus Busters Size: Tiny
Accuracy: 15 Damage: 15 Dodge: 10 Armor: 5 Health: 5
Blue Digizoid Sword: 2 DP Blue Digizoid Armor: 2 DP Charge Attack: 1 DP Effect (life steal): 2 DP Effect (heal): 3 DP Effect (Poison): 2 DP Area Attack (Pass): 2 DP Area Attack (Close Blast): 2 DP Flight: 2 DP Combat Awareness: 2 DP
Attacks:
Sword of Light (Melee, Sword, Effect, Lifesteal) Unending strike (Melee, Sword, Effect, Pass, Charge Attack) Unseelie Briar (Ranged, Effect, Poison) Blessing of Light (Ranged, Effect, Heal) Thistle Bomb (Ranged, Close Blast)
Tinkermon Line:
(Fresh):
(In Trianing):
Tinkermon (Rookie):
A small and scrawny, punkish fairy tail digimon who almost perfectly mixes cruelty and cute. Tinkermon usually spend their time around Petermon, but those who reject this tend to be a bit more proactive and dangerous. She is very proud of her ability to trick others and her skill with the poisoned lance she carries, usually relying on the paralyzing effect of her toxins, cute looks and speed to keep her from danger even in the face of far more powerful foes.
Virus Wind Guardian Size: Small
Accuracy: 3 Damage: 2 Dodge: 9 Armor: 3 Health: 3
Flight: 2 DP Attack Effect (paralysis): 3 DP
Attacks:
Speed Nightmare: (Melee, Paralysis) Fairy Powder: (Ranged)
Ravermon (Champion):
A Heroine Chique punkette fairy in a midriff and shorts, her slightly tattered wings and a plethora of digiscript tattoos around various parts of her body seem almost designed to lure others into her intoxicating dance. Like her previous form, Ravermon is not much of a combatant. however her Rave Strobe can be devistating against foes who do not espect it, and she is still able to cause a bit of damage with her Stunner Dance attack.
Ravermon typically wear different hair colors, styles and piercings in an attempt to differentiate themselves. Failing to tell two of them apart even when the choices end up being similar can set them off into a frenzy and cause them to become quite violent.
Nightmare Soldier Virus Medium
Accuracy: 5 Damage: 5 Dodge: 12 Armor: 3 Health: 5
Flight: 2 DP Attack Effect (Charm): 3 DP Attack Effect (Paralysis): 3 DP Speedy 2: 2 DP
Attacks:
Stunner Dance: (Melee) Rave Strobe (Color): (Effect, Ranged, Charm) Rave Strobe (White): (Effect, Ranged, Paralysis)
Fallen Angewomon (Ultimate):
Though visually looking very similar to Ravermon, Fallen Angewomn is very different in many ways. Her left arm is covered by a fingerless Devimon-styled glove, a pair of slightly tarnished holy rings dangling like bracelets from that wrist. The fairy wings are replaced by a pair of long, powerful black angel wings pierced in a few places and often with a few feathers dyed a vibrant color to match whatever wild hair style the particular Fallen Angewomon has adopted. While Ravermon and Tinkermon are both somewhat benign save perhaps for a slight sadistic streak Fallen Angewomon is far more cruel and cunning.
She makes good use of her Dark Kiss attack to pit others against each other and frequently works to manipulate foes so that they will at odds and distrustful even when her influence has finally dissipated.
Virus Nightmare Soldier Size: Medium
Accuracy: 8 Damage: 7 Dodge: 15 Armor: 5 Health: 5
Holy Ring 2: 2 DP Hide in plain sight 1: 1 DP: Flight: 2 DP Optimization (Effect Warrior): 1 DP Attack Effect (Charm): 3 DP Area Attack (Blast): 2 DP Speedy 3: 3 DP Attack Effect (Immobilized): 1 DP
Attacks:
Dark Kiss (Ranged, Effect, Charm, Blast) Twilight Bolt (Ranged) Mischief (Melee) Wink Wink (Ranged, Effect, Immobilize)
Ophiliamon (Mega):
Dressed in a black leather coat, slightly bloody wrappings around her upper chest, a tatterd denim skirt and two angel wings, one white and one black. Ophiliamon exudes not only attraction and seduction, but madness and suffering.
Unlike most other Mega-level Digimon she is in fact quite poor at harming her foes even at the best of times. In theory she is rather weak physically and perhaps even a bit fragile. She makes up for this though with her ability to manipulate and control her opponents. Even more than Fallen Angewomon, Ophiliamon will gladly find out anything she can before a fight and set foes against each other without having to attack once. She is a cunning orator whose skills in manipulation serve her very well.
However when that fails Ophiliamon can fall back on her glance of madness and claiming kiss. The glance is capable of stunning and crippling any foe unlucky enough to set eyes on her, while the kiss can drive any digimon within it’s radius to follow her bidding without a moment's question or hesitation.
Virus Nightmare Soldier Size: large
Accuracy: 15 Damage: 5 Dodge: 15 Armor: 5 Health: 10
Flight: 2 DP Charm: 3 DP Weaken: 3 DP Paralysis: 3 DP Attack Area (Burst): 3 DP Certain Strike 3: 6 DP Resistant 3: 3 DP Speedy 2: 2 DP
Attacks:
Glance of Madness: (ranged, Weakness, Paralysis, Effect) Claiming Kiss: (ranged, Effect, Burst, Certain Strike) Wrist Stigmata: (Ranged) Weeping despair: (Melee) Babble: (Ranged)
Whelmpon Line:
(Fresh):
(in Training):
Whelpmon (Rookie):
Scrawny and small but rough, Whelpmon has the spirit of mighty dragons resting within it's heart. Physically Whelpmon straddles the line between intimidating and cute. It has short arms and a large silver head plate. While smarter and far more complex than many might expect given it's one track mind, Whelpmon actually prefers to be seen as a near mindless aggressor. Larger dragon digimon will usually take at least a bit of pity on Whelpmon since they can appriciate the effort, even if his rage is more adorable than threatening
Vacceen Dragon's roar Small
Accuracy: 4 Damage: 6 Dodge: 4 Armor: 4 Health: 4
Huge Power: 2 DP
Attacks:
Singe Plasma: (Ranged) Draco Poke: (Melee)
Batamon (Champion):
A quick and skilled fighter always looking for a new challenge. Batamon takes the form of a powerful red wurm lined with silver plates along it's head and back. These hardened plates can grow brightly when using his powerful white flame to strike out at foes.
Vaceen Dragon's roar Huge
Accuracy: 7 Damage: 10 Dodge: 5 Armor: 7 Health: 7
Attack Effect (Fear): 2 DP Area Attack (Cone): 2 DP
Attacks:
Dread Gaze: (Effect, Fear) White Flame Roar: (Ranged, Cone) Triple Chomp: (Melee)
War Drakemon (Ultimate):
A powerful and regal digimon with a thirst for battle, War Drakemon takes the form of a smallish red dragon with an ornate chestplate and harness made entirely of Chrome digizoid. War Drakemon lives for thrills, be it high speed flight or the rush of combat against superior forces or a superior foe. He can somehow manage to maintain his adrenaline junkie ways without losing any of the grandure and nobility one would feel when they first lay eyes on him… provided he keeps clear of any bad jokes.
Vacceen Dragon’s roar Size: Huge
Accuracy: 9 Damage: 15 Dodge: 5 Armor: 9 Health: 9
Area Effect (Cone): 2DP Area Effect (Blast): 2 DP Fly: 2 DP Chrome Digizoid armor: 1 DP Attack Effect (Immobilize): 1 DP
Attacks:
Heavy Thrash: (Melee) White Flame Storm: (Ranged, Cone, Blast) Dragon Inferno: (Ranged) Thick Smoke: (Effect, Immobilize)
Ragnadramon (Mega):
Massive, powerful, nearly unstoppable. Ragnadramon is a true powerhouse of a dragon. With it’s massive bulk, weight and wingspan Ragnadramon is already an intimidating figure, however that is nothing compared to the white hot fire that burns within it’s gullet. While by no means stupid, Ragnadramon is single minded in his quest for destruction. His White hot armageddon especially serves as a shockingly powerful attack that sweeps the battlefield with unstable bolts of plasmatizing flame.
Ragnadramon is a digimon of few words and little patience. Typically willing to start up a fight for no other reason than he can. This can often cause foes to see Ragnadramon as simply a dumb animal, but that mistake can be quite costly. Behind that raw power lies an intellect geared for war.
Vacceen Dragon’s Roar Size: gigantic (6X10)
Accuracy: 10 Damage: 20 Dodge: 4 Armor: 10 Health: 10
Fly: 2 DP Area Attack (Line): 2 DP Mighty Blow: 2 DP Area Attack (Cone): 2 DP Attack Effect (Paralysis): 3 DP Red Digizoid Armor: 2 DP Red Digizoid Weapon: 2 DP Long Range Optimization: 1 DP
Attacks:
White hot Armageddon: (Ranged, Cone, Line) Punishment Flame: (Ranged, Paralysis) Doom Claw: (Melee) White Hot Oblivion: (Ranged) Ravage: (Melee)
Plinkmon Line:
(Fresh):
(in training):
Plinkmon (Rookie):
A bandit though and though. Plinkmon is very distinctive with it’s wide brimmed hat, long scarf that covers the lower half of it’s face, vest and twin bandoleers of Pellet gun ammunition. It’s left arm is replaced with a Pellet gun, and it is indeed a crack shot with this particular weapon.
Plinkmon is surprisingly carefree, if more than a bit irresponsible. It has no problem taking whatever it may wish from others at pelletgun point and loaths any form of actual work. If pushed a group of Plinkmon might end up working for a more powerful Digimon as ranged support, but only if the reward is worth it.
Data Machine Empire Small
Accuracy: 6 Damage: 3 Dodge: 3 Armor: 5 Health: 5
Attack Effect (Confuse): 2 DP Data Optimization (long ranged): 1 DP
Wild Shot (Ranged) Pellet storm (effect, Confuse)
Troopermon (Champion):
Cammo, Rifle, cyborg limbs and a bad attitude. Troopermon is the epitome of digital soldier. Unlike Plinkmon, Troopermon is quite serious and no-nonsense. It will usually seek to gain the range advantage in battle and use that to hammer away at opponents. Should they get in close Troopermon will usually rely on his Supression attack or, failing that, a good boot to the head.
Troopermon loves booze, cigars and a job well done. Thankfully it has the discipline to avoid the former two until said job is completed, at least most of the time. Many say that the large, thick, visored helmet it is always wearing is in fact part of its head, though nobody has ever dared to check for sure.
Data Machine Empire Huge
Accuracy: 5 Damage: 5 Dodge: 5 Armor: 10 Health: 10
Certain Strike 2: 2 DP Attack Effect (Fear): 2 DP Data Optimization (long range): 1 DP
Attacks:
Snipe shot: (Ranged, Certain Strike, Gun) Surpression: (Effect, Fear) Boot Kick: (Melee)
Bastiamon (Ultimate):
Bastiamon is a bulwark of defense personified. He is fully focused on the idea of protecting others, even other Bastiamon should two happen to meet. This mindset works well with Bastiamon’s considerable armor and skill at absorbing blows in order to land a more powerful attack. Bastiamon is able to walk upright due to it’s powerful, if stubby legs. However when resting he will typically lean heavily on his haunched cylindrical gauntleted forearms. These arms, equal part cannon and melee claw, are capable of generating massive amounts of radiation. Indeed part of the reason Bastiamon is so dangerous is due to his ability to subject foes in melee range to severe doses of Rads that slowly decay their digital makeup.
Data Metal Empire Size: Gigantic
Accuarcy: 7 Damage: 7 Dodge: 6 Armor: 12 Health: 12
Attack Effect (Poison): 2 DP Combat Monster: 2 DP Attack Effect (Knockback): 1 DP Attack Effect (Strengthen): 3 DP Chrome Digizoid Armor: 1 DP Attack Area (Burst): 2 DP
Attacks:
Rad Claw: (Melee, Poison, Knockback) Flash Missile (Ranged, Effect, Immobilize) Overclock: (Effect, Strengthen) Rad Blast: (Ranged)
Arsenalmon (Mega):
A massive and powerful armored beast, as much walking tank as combatant. Arsenalmon is a slow and ponderous engine of raw destructive force. This massive quadrupedal digimon stands over three stories tall even without the considerable weaponry built on to his armored frame, with a stocky front leg placement similar to a Gila monster that spans just over two stories. On his long and powerful back he carries a massive array of weapons including various lasers, cannons, shoulder mounted racks for his Exponent Missiles… and of course the mighty Grand Gauss rifle. This weapon, flanked by two powerful artillery guns, has several components forged of Red Digizoid, including the feed mechanism and initial magnetic chamber. This is the only way for the weapon to survive the powerful kick as it throws a payload of superdense Chrome Digizoid spikes.
Arsenalmon is slow, ponderous and single minded. He has no problem taking all of the damage that can be dealt and returning it with either his Zero Point Shielding or a well placed Grand Gauss strike.
Data Metal Empire Gigantic (8X24)
Accuracy: 10 Damage: 10 Dodge: 0 Armor: 20 Health: 15
Area Attack (cone): 2 DP Combat Monster: 2 DP Counter Attack: 2 DP Counterblow: 2 DP Obsidian Digizoid Armor: 1 DP Gold Digizoid Armor: 2 DP Red Digizoid Weapon: 2 DP Data Optimization (Long range): 1 DP Attack Effect (Knockback): 1 DP
Attacks:
Exponent Missile: (Cone, Ranged) Zero Point Shielding: (Counterblow, Ranged) Assault Tail: (Melee) Grand Gauss: (Ranged, Knockback) Lock On Barrage (Ranged)

Actually, I was wondering if anyone still was monitoring this thread. I'm working on trying to design a VERY custom and unique digimon for my current campaign. I've got an idea for the mega level's name (Furemon), and I know how the fresh/in-training levels appear. As for the details and stats, I'm clueless on where to go. Appearance for fresh through rookie should have a fairly generic appearance, as plain as possible, with long floppy ears. I picked Furemon, because the digimon in question is a villain loosely based off of Adolf Hitler (i.e. the Fuhrer).
Power level should be fairly high, and I want him to take some serious skill before my players are able to bring him down. But not be able to utterly destroy them. Just give them a good fight.
Thoughts?
